By the time 2020 rolled around, NWB was in full stride. Like most, we were not prepared for what was about to hit us. While COVID-19 destroyed many businesses around the country, the bike industry went into a frenzy. About two weeks of limbo kicked off the wildest two years we will ever see. The first week of April saw our online sales grow 8X from anything we had ever experienced. With that came many, many growing pains.
Phones were ringing off the hook at the retail stores with no one to answer them. Online orders were flowing in at a pace we could not handle. Bikes were selling so fast that we could not build them fast enough. The next 60 days would shape our business forever, and it is why NWB operates (more or less) as a well oiled machine today. We worked hard, buckled down, and evolved our processes to handle increased traffic both locally and online. Most customers were very patient in 2020 knowing we were facing some crazy times, but we knew that would not last forever. We implemented the changes we need for success and continued to grow.
Today, NWB is back to a normal flow. Our customers, both local and online, keep us pumped on what we like to focus on – high end bicycle work. We are no longer a one man operation in Snoqualmie, but our employees are the best of the best and work together to achieve our mission – create a better bike shop accessible to all.
